2016 Wichita Eco-Meet Results

The 2016 Wichita Eco-Meet was held on Tuesday October 11.

6 teams made up of 19 students from 3 schools competed.

Winning Teams:

1st Place: Goddard High School “Blue”

L-R: Coach Marylee Ramsay, Cameron Boyd, Clara Towey, Sarah Tomtschik
Each team member received a $100 scholarship award.

2nd Place: Goddard High School “White”

L-R: Coach Marylee Ramsay, Jadyn Hurst, Cynthia Edmiston, Sarah Henderson
Each team member received a $75 scholarship award.

3rd Place: Eisenhower High School “B”

L-R: Coach Denise Scribner, Luke Hersh, Siera Vanderhoef, Jaden Sunanikone
Each team member received a $50 scholarship award.

Focus Area Winners – Invertebrates:

1st Place: Sarah Tomtschik, Goddard high School

Sarah Tomtschik received a $75 scholarship award.

2nd Place: Clara Towey, Goddard high School

Clara Towey received a $50 scholarship award.

1st Place: Sarah Tomtschik, Goddard high School

The Wichita Eco-Meet was hosted at the Great Plains Nature Center by:

  • The City of Wichita Parks & Recreation
  • The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, & Tourism
  • The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
  • Friends of the Great Plains Nature Center
